2019-2020 SAG Winners

Congratulations to our Special Aid Grant recipients this year!

Both recipients have programs that enhances the well being of children in our communities, which is part of Junior League of Racine’s mission and vision in the community.

  1. Faith Hope & Love
    • Awarded $500 to continue providing “New Beginnings Bags” for children recovered from human trafficking and survivors of sexual assault. Each bag contains the necessities for the first 48 hours after a child is recovered from human trafficking or a sexual assault. This program is now operating in all Racine Unified School Districts, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and 3 Aurora Health Care hospitals in Racine County.
  2. River Bend Nature Center
    • Awarded $500 to expand their programs offered to the Racine Unified School District kindergartner classes. Currently River Bend offers an autumn field trip “Nature’s Palette”. With this grant, they hope to expand and offer a spring field trip, “Building Blocks of Nature”, which will expand on the concepts presented in the fall trip, and further the relationship of each child with nature and the environment. Their goal is to offer these two experiences to the children at no cost to the families.

The Junior League of Racine opens the application process each fall of the calendar year. Please bookmark www.jlracine.org/special-aid-grants/ and check back October 1, 2020 for your organizations opportunity to apply.
